To build healthy sustainable soils that produce nutrient-dense foods using local wisdom & technology.

The mission of Living Soils Abundant Life is to build healthy and self-sustaining soils capable of producing nutrient-dense foods by integrating local wisdom and emerging science-based bio-technology around the world.

We are a group of multi-national experts in good soil with a combined one hundred and twenty-five years of experience working with soil and plants.  We know the inter-relationship of above and below ground life forms that, properly managed, create the conditions for growing abundant and healthy fruits and vegetables.  We have working relationships with internationally recognized agricultural research institutions which allow us to apply research based practices and which support us with a wide array of analytical services.  Their prompt lab analysis and microscopic inspection of soil and water samples take the guess work out of diagnosis and prescription as we work with families and farmers. Further, the research from these institutions allow us to apply updated best practices in traditional strategies such as composting, using cover crops, permaculture, compost tea, and biochar.

We believe:

 - Healthy food from sustainable soil is important for everyone.

 - Growing, harvesting, and eating vegetables and fruits should not impoverish a family through the need for expensive manufactured additives and poisons.

 - Growing, harvesting, and eating vegetables and fruits should not expose growers or consumers to toxins.

 - There is a direct relationship between the health of children and families and the health of the eco-system which grows their food.

 - Each farm, each region, is unique in both its biology and culture.

A successful methodology requires listening for understanding, direct observation, discovery, problem solving, prescription, application and, critically, testing the results and adjusting as necessary.

Currently we are working with farmers in rural china and expect to demonstrate increased healthy yields of fruits and vegetables.  We then hope to expand our work to other regions. Our work is critical for the health of the earth, ourselves and future generations.  We ask you to join us on this mission.
